| | | Message from Bikers USA to Mathew Heffley, MHeffley@khp.ks.gov regarding a DOT NHTSA Sponsored Event. Mr. Heffley, The NHTSA, your event sponsor for the 2nd KC Metro Motorcycle Summit, on May 6th at Kansas City International Raceway, is trying to mandate helmet laws. Therefore, I must presume the same is true of you. I shall not assist you in your endeavor to further the safety Nazi propaganda and lies which I believe will be done at your "summit". Rather, I shall stand firm against attempted fascist governance, and ask that you seriously consider the imperative that Americans have an inalienable right to individual liberty and responsibility. Helmets should never be forced onto anyones heads. If people refuse to attach a torturous, and potentially dangerous, device to their body, in order to travel freely across this country, such refusal must not be perceived as a violation of statutory law. Forcing them to put a device on their head is the act of a socialist safety nanny police state. When I joined the military, I swore an oath to protect this country from all enemies, foreign and domestic. I consider the bad governance by Washington DC bureaucrats, such as the NHTSA, to be a serious threat to our free nation. Although I am no longer in the military, I still consider myself duty bound as a citizen to stand for freedom, liberty, and rights of the individual, in nonviolent, vocal opposition to an authoritarian government which assumes broad powers not specifically allowed by the US Constitution. If your ONLY purpose is to promote the use of race tracks, rather than the streets, I applaud this as very worthwhile. However, your sponsors have already proven themselves an enemy of individual liberty. As such, they shall get neither quarter nor support from me. Rather than allow the government to promote "Bike Wars" as seen on your poster, I prefer to call for bikers to unite in opposition to totalitarian enactments proposed by your conspirators. They can enjoy the track another day. FIRE MARY PETERS! LET THOSE WHO RIDE DECIDE ! END ALL MANDATORY HELMET STATUTES ! | | | | For 40 years, bikers have complained about their helmets, but as of Halloween, 2007, there were only 20 official complaints going back to 1995 on file at the NHTSA. There are 500,000 helmets recalled and most are probably on our heads! Tell NHTSA to force helmet makers to make helmets they are willing to stand behind and are rated for 70 mph. If they made a better product, the government would not have to force people to wear these torture devices. Make your motorcycle helmet complaint official by filing it online now! Update: Within the first 48 hours of the Halloween 2007 Campaign, the number of official helmet complaints on file doubled compared to the last 12 years! Please tell all bikers they should be making their helmet complaints official. It’s easy! For more info, see Bikers of Lesser Tolerance, B.O.L.T. | |
 | | | HB 155 Missouri Helmet Bill, if passed, will reduce the age of the mandatory helmet law to under 21. As of 4/20/07, it has moved through a couple of committees and is not on a calendar. If you live in Missouri, or would consider riding through Missouri spending your tourist dollars, please contact the legislators and urge them to continue to move the bill forward and approve HB 155. Ask FORR to find out how you can help. Request by Halfbreed of FORR: Senator Chuck Graham of District 19 (Boone and Randoph) is planning to filibuster HB155 in the senate. The only way to stop this is for people who live in his district to call him and POLITELY ask him not to block HB155. His number is 573-751-2162 Or you can E-mail Senator Chuck Graham through this link. |
